fALL 2016 Adult discipleship opportunities

Please consider attending one of these opportunities as you pursue a deeper understanding of all of God's blessings for us.

  • A Jesus-Shaped Life    (Office—main hallway)

Do you ever feel like you’re missing something of the life you’re meant to live?  Jesus came to earth to not only show us how we are meant to live but also lead us into lives of ultimate purpose and meaning.  Using the 3DM book “A Jesus-Shaped Life” by Bob Rognlien and facilitated by Jim Smith, this group will focus on how God wants to mold and shape our lives using the example of Jesus.

  • Becoming a Contagious Christian       (Classrooms 22-23)

Evangelism doesn’t have to be frustrating or intimidating. This video and book study session is a groundbreaking , personalized approach to relational evangelism. Led by Dave Hart and Nate Barber, this study will help you to discover your own natural evangelism style, how to develop a contagious Christian character, to build spiritually strategic relationships, to direct conversations toward matters of faith, and to share biblical truths in everyday language.

  • Gods at War: defeating the idols that battle for your heart                                                                                                    (classroom 21)

What keeps us from truly following Jesus is that our hearts are pursuing something or someone else. Behind the sin you’re struggling with, the discouragement you’re dealing with, or the lack of purpose you’re living with is a false god that is winning the war for your heart.  By asking insightful questions, the author reveals which false gods each of us are allowing on the throne of our heart. This class is facilitated by Cathy Adams and offers great group interaction.

  • Parents & Partners Missional Community  (Classroom 20)

Carol Kendrick will lead this group, and they will be discussing  “Nurturing Great Children” during an 8-week session. As leaders,  parents and grandparents of children, you will want to join this group

as they help to empower you to be a great ‘nurturer’. This will also be a great opportunity to build community with other parents and significant adults in the lives of children!

  • Six Steps to Healing and Hope    (Conference Room)

This group is specifically for struggling parents of out-of-control teens and adult children and
will be led by Cathy Ogren.  Using materials from writer Allison Bottke, this group will provide helpful information,  support, and experience in an atmosphere of confidentiality to parents of children of
all ages.  We look forward to seeing you there!
