who we are
our story
Fellowship Church began over 100 years ago when a pastor’s wife from downtown Muskegon felt called to reach the children ‘on the other side of the highway’ with the love of Jesus. The pastor’s wife created a Sunday School, and assembled a group of teachers to share Jesus with the children every week. As the years went by, the Sunday School began holding worship services and Bible studies for adults. In the early 1930’s a formal church was dedicated, and that church became Fellowship Church.
We still talk about these humble beginnings because this story forms the DNA of Fellowship Church today. We began with one person’s passion to reach children for Jesus Christ, and so today Fellowship Church still places a high priority on 1) reaching unchurched people, and 2) focusing on children. We believe that nothing brings greater joy to God than reaching people who don’t already know Jesus, and we believe that God has a special place in his heart for children. We hope this helps you understand both the history and the current focus of Fellowship Church, and we invite you to join with us in continuing to live out God’s story in our community!
